Málstofa á vegum RANNUM: Digital Transformation in Education: Research and Development in Switzerland and Iceland
In this seminar scholars from University of Iceland – School of Education and Zurich University of Teacher Education will focus on fields of research and development at their universities related to digital transformation in education. Perspectives from two university research centres in Switzerland and Iceland will be presented followed by a discussion with participants on what can be learned and how research can contribute to school development and education in these times of digital change.

In this presentation, Ursula Stohler introduces the Centre for Education and Digital Transformation at the Zurich University of Teacher Education and gives an overview of its main fields of work. The presentation highlights current priorities, selected activities, and the Center’s role in connecting research, institutional development, and educational practice. Ursula Stohler Bio
Ursula Stohler, is the coordinator of the Centre for Education and Digital Transformation at the Zurich University of Teacher Education. Her profile centres on digital transformation in education, European digital research projects, and academic coordination at the interface of education and digital transformation. She combines this with strong expertise in subject-matter teaching and learning, foreign language education, bilingual subject teaching, and interdisciplinary teaching concepts for modern foreign languages. She holds a PhD in Russian Studies and has international academic experience in Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Czechia, and Sweden.
